What finance companies typically charge for
Scratches that break the paint surface
Light surface scuffs that haven't broken through to the primer are usually fine. Deep scratches that expose bare metal or primer are chargeable.
Dents larger than roughly 25mm
Small door dings under 25mm are often within fair wear and tear. Anything larger, or dents with paint damage, will typically be flagged.
Alloy wheel damage beyond permitted wear
Providers may assess kerbing, gouges, corrosion and finish damage differently. Use the measurements and examples in your own return guide.
Bumper cracks, splits or missing clips
Providers distinguish cosmetic surface marks from cracks, splits and missing parts. Check the examples and measurements in your guide.
Windscreen chips and cracks
